Today in Y6 we looked at poems that could be read forwards & backwards. I was stunned by this one written by one of my 10 year olds. Please share - I would love her work to be appreciated further afield. I wonder if it could even find a publisher?

@mra_mb Day 15: Your Students’ Favourite Book. We had a divisional PD Day today and I forgot to ask my students yesterday what their favourite book was for today’s #mraphotoaday challenge. But I have noticed a few of them have started reading some of the #harrypoter books.
@mra_mb Day #14:Favourite Canadian Author. I know I have posted about #robertmunsch already a couple times throughout the #mraphotoaday challenge but he is just one of my favourite Canadian authors. My students and I love his books including one of my favourites Love Your Forever
@mra_mb Day 13: Favourite Book by an Indigenous Author. One of my wishes right now is that our school could have a better selection of #indigenous books in our library! There are so many great books and authors like this one! #mraphotoaday#reading
@mra_mb Day #12: Favourite Carol Matas Book. She has so many good books to choose from that I couldn’t decided on just one so I grabbed a few to share. #reading#ilovetoreadmonth#mraphotoaday
@mra_mb Day #11: Favourite David Robertson book. I couldn’t get my hands on a copy of When We Were Alone by #davidrobertson to read to my students today. But I happened to find a reading of it on #youtube so we could share the story together. #mraphotoaday
@mra_mb Day #9: Growth Mindset. I am hoping to read this book to my kids during #ilovetoreadmonth. I was able to buy a copy thanks to the #mraphotoaday challenge last year. It’s a wonderful book for teaching #growthmindset.
@mra_mb Day #8: Power and Agency. On Friday I read my students the Happy Dreamer. A wonderful book for #power and #agency. It was the perfect reminder to keep dreaming big no matter how discouraged they may get. #mraphotoaday
@mra_mb Day #7: We are reading the outsiders in class right now and we’re about half way through the book. My students are really enjoying it and it’s all I can do to keep them from reading ahead. There are so many important themes including #socialjustice. #mraphotoaday
@mra_mb Day #6: Community! I love books that share stories about #community. And I love my small #multilevelclass and the beautiful tiny #school I get to teach in. These stories remind me of and help to build our wonderful school community. #mraphotoaday ❤️
@mra_mb Day 5:#reconciliation. So important to me, especially this year teaching in a classroom with an 88%+ aboriginal population. I was sad today that I had to be in meetings and couldn’t share this or one of the many great books to showcase the topic with my kids.#mraphotoaday
@mra_mb Day #2: #Diversity. As a class we have been reading Amal Unbound by #aishasaeed. We started as part of the #globalreadaloud in October and have slowly been working on it over the last few months. My students are very into the story and are in anticipation of the ending.
@mra_mb Day#1: To kick off #ilovetoreadmonth we had a big school pancake breakfast + reading and were also lucky to have our superintendent join us for #worldreadaloudday. He read my 6-7-8 class Moira’s Birthday by #robertmunsch. Was a great kick off to the month. #mraphotoaday
