An Indian citizen languishes in jail for years. No chargesheet in time. No trial. No bail. His crime might be a Facebook post or a protest. The system forgets him inside Tihar and UAPA becomes a tool to keep him inside without proof.

And then look at the Myanmar Drone Case.

US national Matthew VanDyke and 6 Ukrainian nationals - Petro Hurba, Taras Slyviak and others - arrested by NIA in March for illegally entering Mizoram, crossing into Myanmar, supplying drones, weapons and training ethnic armed groups for drone warfare. NIA itself said they were operating as mercenaries, booked under UAPA.

What happened?

Chargesheet filed with only Immigration and Foreigners Act, no UAPA. Granted default bail in 6 months. Fine of 5.5 lakhs to FRRO and they are discharged. And yesterday, Rouse Avenue Court allows all seven to fly back to US and Ukraine for a month to meet their families, passports returned. Constitutional liberty to travel abroad, the court said.

So an Indian without a chargesheet can't get bail for years, but foreign nationals accused of running a drone-training camp against India's security interests get bail, discharge, and a paid vacation home in 6 months.

18 मिनट तक फोटो फेसबुक पर मौजूद रही, बाद में हटा ली गई। फेसबुक का रिकॉर्ड यही बताता है। सवाल है यहां मुख्यमंत्री ने पीड़िता के परिवार के साथ साथ फोटो किस मंशा के साथ खिंचवाई, फोटो खिंचवाई तो पोस्ट क्यों किया? पीड़िता की पहचान उजागर करने पर जो कानून आम लोगों पर लागू होता है क्या वो मुख्यमंत्री और उनके ऑफिस स्टाफ पर भी लागू होगा?
