The biomass of every tree in Europe was mapped. That allows us to quantify the overlooked contribution of trees outside forests, such as in urban areas, to national carbon stocks. Maps and codes for download via the paper in Science Advances https://t.co/1quH4RjhkM #PlanetScope
A Tropical Storm Watch (Sunday-Monday) has been issued for Catalina and Santa Barbara Islands, Antelope Valley Foothills, San Gabriel Mountains, Interstate 5 Corridor, Santa Clarita Valley, and Highway 14 Corridor, as well as much of the southern coastal waters. #CAwx

@M_J_Spasojevic @UCRCNAS@UCR_ScienceNews Thanks @M_J_Spasojevic , and thank you for your extensive mentorship and support which made all of my work possible!
This paper has been a long time coming with the data being collected back in 2021. I am really grateful for my mentors @M_J_Spasojevic and @jared_huxley as well as everyone that made this project happen!
I am really excited to share my first publication! In this paper we bring together some of the literature on the role of ontogeny in plant community assembly into a conceptual framework, and examine assembly processes in a dry oak-conifer forest.
Research presents a conceptual framework for integrating #ontogeny more explicitly into community assembly research, & demonstrates how different assembly processes structured adult & #seedling β-diversity in a temperate dry #forest🌲
