The nice thing about working in Opinion is you can advocate for groups of people you were part of not long ago.
When I was a student working three-ish part time jobs at once, I would have benefited greatly from an expanded Earned Income Tax Credit.

from the story: "Westman legally changed his name to Robin in 2020. Court records show Westman’s mother sought the change because her child “identifies as a female and wants her name to reflect that identification.” It’s unclear what gender Westman identified with recently."
Some of the policies Walz signed into law in Minnesota:
-Universal school meals
-Stronger labor protections
-Cannabis legalization
-Stronger LGBTQ+ protections
-paid leave/sick
-100% clean energy by 2030
-repro rights
-$1B for housing
-gun safety
-cut child poverty 1/3
It was fun tagging along with @StribLopez on her in-depth (and sorely needed!) look into Minnesota’s LRT.
(As an added perk, I am now a published photog. Can I add that to my resume?)

@ABC Nice to see that Congress has its priorities in order: Sending billions to aid in the slaughter of civilians as well as censuring the body’s only Palestinian member. Shameful.
Tragic: Today is my last day as a @StribOpinion intern. Big thank you to the entire Opinion team & my friend and editor @stribgillespie for his guidance, thoughtful edits and abundance of old man newspaper stories. 🥲
