If the side effects are grave enough, the drug can be recalled. That’s why NDA asks people to report side effects of drugs they experience.

@MichaelMuto3 @JKabuleta So drug safety is established prior to reaching post marketing surveillance and reaching this stage does not mean they are no longer monitoring for side effects. In post marketing surveillance they are looking at significant side effects in the population.
