Thai Army: Cambodia Increases Forces, Uses Reconnaissance Drones, and Spreading Fake News

The 2nd Army Region has summarized the situation, stating that Cambodia is increasing its forces and using reconnaissance drones deep within Thai territory. They are also spreading fake news to cause public panic, the Army said. Thailand emphasizes its strict adherence to the ceasefire agreement.

At 3:25 PM on August 4, the 2nd Army Region Operations Center released a summary of the fighting along the Thai-Cambodian border as of 2:00 PM today.
The summary highlights that while there are no active incidents, the opposing side continues to increase its military presence. They are also using unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) near the border and in inland areas, and spreading fake news online to create public panic. Thai forces remain deployed according to their operational plan.

Regarding yesterday’s rumors that Thai forces were planning an attack before the GBC (General Border Committee) meeting from August 4-7, our side confirms it is strictly following the ceasefire agreement.
Support for Evacuees

Government agencies, private companies, and the public are providing support and assistance at 495 civilian collection points across four provinces. As of now, there are 96,040 evacuees. Local officials have deployed village security teams to continuously watch over the homes of those who have been evacuated.

Volunteers are providing care and assistance in four provinces (Buriram, Sisaket, Surin, and Ubon Ratchathani). They are helping people in temporary shelters, moving belongings, and assisting with public information. The team includes 129 volunteers from the 904 Royal Volunteer Program, 2,660 royal and public volunteers, and 258 volunteer reservists.

Royal Kitchens
Sixteen royal kitchens have been set up in the four provinces to provide cooked meals. The total number of meals served from July 24 to August 4, is 405,894.
The report also thanks the public for reporting drone sightings by calling 1374, which allows security units to take action.

Additionally, thanks were extended to educational institutions that provided full scholarships to the children and spouses of soldiers, border patrol police, and civilians who died protecting the sovereignty of the Thai-Cambodian border.

The report concluded by thanking people across the country for their generous donations of supplies to both the affected civilians and the soldiers defending the border.
