The concept of university having overall best graduating student will forever remain funny to me, we all don’t study the same course in the university so why is someone becoming the overall best graduating of the university..?
The real unsung heroes of medical school are our parents fr. The financial burden of putting a child through almost a decade of medical school is actually insane.
“Doctor, I’m scared. Can’t we wait just a few more hours?" 🤰😰
Ngozi wasn’t against a C-section. She didn't have a birth plan carved in stone or a point to prove to the world. She just wanted what every mother wants: to bring her baby home safely. But as the monitor began to beep in a way that didn’t sound right anymore, the fear of the unknown finally began to set in.
The labor had stalled for hours, and the baby was showing signs of distress. It wasn't an emergency yet, but the window for a calm, controlled delivery was closing. "Ngozi, you’ve done an incredible job," the doctor said. "But the baby is in distress. We can keep waiting and risk an emergency later, or we can go to the theater now while we have the time to keep everything under control."
She didn't argue. She didn't cry about "failing" a natural birth. She just looked at the doctor and said, "Whatever is best for the baby, Doc. I’m ready." That simple act of trust is the bravest thing a mother can do.
The transition to the theater was a dance of professional precision. There was no shouting or panic, just the steady hum of a team moving to protect two lives. The doctor worked with a focused calm, and ten minutes later, the theater was filled with the loud, healthy cry of her baby boy. 🤱
When the doctor placed her son on her chest, Ngozi wasn't looking at the surgical lights or thinking about the incision. She was looking at a miracle. The fear was replaced by tears of pure relief.
The photo you see below isn’t a sign that Ngozi failed or took the easy way out. It is the mark of a mother who put her child’s safety above her own fear. Today, both are home, healthy, and alive.
April is C-Section Awareness Month.
We need to start seeing a C-section for what it truly is: a beautiful, normal, and elite way to bring life into this world. That scar is a trophy of motherhood, and the only thing that matters is that the baby is in your arms. Let’s stop the stigma. Every birth is a miracle, no matter how it happened. ✨
