@RowanKaiser I do think I prefer those experiences handheld these days (and fortunately have a Steam Deck). The pixel upgrade they did on FFIV for PSP was gorgeous, and was a perfect way to play it.
@RowanKaiser I've debated in my head when I should play them, but I think I may dip in at the end of the year again. I recall them lasting forever (particularly VI), but I was also a child.
@BunchesOfBees I use Goodreads, which has the benefit of allowing me to peep friends' lists (sometimes the recommendations pan out, but given its driven by Amazon's algos, eh).
@xoxogossipgita@Papapishu The combat feels amazing. The Evangelion boss fights are a blast. I actively groan at the story and shit talk it while Pete watches.
Think I'm finally catching back up to where I was last with FF7R (not very far). I don't think I ever thought much about Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge in the original, but they sort of work here as a ragtag team in lieu of my party being built yet.
@RowanKaiser I'm also still processing how badly Roche wants to 'cross swords' with Cloud. I do recall Midgar feeling like a significant part of the story, so this part at least works for me. Especially contrasting the slums with the employee area.
of the many issues with rainbow capitalism, it's frustrating to watch these corporations pull visible support at the first whiff of protest instead of going in prepared to actually mean it. It's all so transparent.
For months, people have asked me, "Is it safe? Where should I go?" about anti trans laws.
I created the anti-trans legislative risk assessment map to help answer that question.
This month, a whole new category for Florida.

Fun fact: When I was first starting treatment after my HIV diagnosis it was a Sister who went with me to my doctor and asked the questions I didn't know to ask and taught me the things to watch in my own test results. I got so much agency and knowledge from him, I hope he's well.
