@JackInacker He used all of these people and the hip-hop community collectively as stepping-stones to get recognition only to jump ship to "TV-star" where he LARPs being part of the culture. That disrespect alone should put him probably just above Tom MacDonald all the way at the bottom.
@CountHaunted@wolfmed117 Nevermind, I see what you are saying. I was just giving my best guess I don't really have any clue why they would come to this conclusion.
@CountHaunted@wolfmed117 I'm not sure I follow. I understand that there is a difference between the two but I personally have not seen or heard any black people in the US want to deny their African heritage, and I was just giving a suggestion as to what the original poster might be observing.
@nicola_humar I genuinely don't even know what the left or the right represent anymore. I personally identify center-left, but I see more and more people on the left these days denouncing liberalism and embracing communism, and the right is no longer conservative but fully pro-fascism.
@sxmba_ On paper "yeah if you're getting matched against your skill a 50/50 win rate is perfect." It takes first-hand experience of being placed in matches that are eye-rollingly obviously assembled to result in a predetermined outcome to really understand why matchmaking is so bad now.
@seditional Generally, people find things that they can look at and instantly relate to more appealing than the abstract, so it's really not a profound realization. It is disappointing that we continue to see the same stuff over and over because of that, but it's wholly unsurprising.
@bemwyx@darkleonard2 I haven't been able to have a fishing spot in my underground bases for like 5 or more years now because water has to have "open sky" to give you good loot now. An entire fundamental mechanic changed because they don't like one thing that you can do with it. It's been done before.
@bemwyx@darkleonard2 The entire point of me saying this was to take a lighthearted jab at Mojang for making changes to the fundamental mechanics of the game because they arbitrarily don't like an interaction it has. If they change it, it would be silly, but I absolutely wouldn't put it past them.
@jadenainelynch I had this same thought at the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown every time someone would post that image of the meteor about to hit earth and the dinosaurs looking up saying "oh no, the economy!" People genuinely thought it was a scathing satirical takedown.
@predator467 I love the Star Wars prequels because they are incredibly inspiring to the imagination but this movement to try and declare them as objective masterpieces does nothing but undermine what they are very good at, which is, as I said, inspiring the viewers imagination.
@predator467 Look, I'm not trying to start anything here, but the Lord of the Rings has very theatrical acting and it reads well, and the Star Wars prequels do not. Having to explain the style you were going for is like having to explain the joke. If most viewers can't tell, you kinda failed.
@bemwyx@darkleonard2 It's not about what you consider breaking the game. Mojang considers AFK fishing farms to be "breaking the game." It's entirely relative to the experience the developers want to curate.
@kroketrendang4 I had an exchange with someone on this site not that long ago where they put Fallout at the top of their list of apolitical entertainment franchises. I wouldn't think about it too hard, they certainly don't.
@HugoBluGo@darkleonard2 I personally think Elytra zap the fun out of travel more than ice highways because it's just an item you put on not a cool physics thing you can manipulate and create with. That being said it's always better to add more options than to remove stuff.
@HugoBluGo@darkleonard2 I understand both sides because it sucks having one singular "best" way to do stuff but at the same time it's also super cool that the games physics let you do crazy stuff like that. If they get rid of it they need to make sure they add more emergent options to preserve the fun.
@grpr85@Sharrrrrrrrrrr_ That's something I can just say agree to disagree on. People's response to the appearance of others varies depending on how much they look alike, which is indisputable fact. This absolutely plays a factor in how much a people relate to a work of fiction despite it not being real.
@grpr85@Sharrrrrrrrrrr_ I'm not following what you're saying, anymore. You said representation does not matter, I said that I disagree and that I believe it does. I believe in others being represented despite the fact that it comes at a cost to my own representation, which can be a little sad.
@grpr85@Sharrrrrrrrrrr_ Yes, I am. I understand the fear of being replaced and forgotten. I understand the fear of not getting to see movies like I did as a child where people look like me. It's normal to feel that way, it's not normal to be incapable of understanding other people want a shot at that.
