I know I'm a broken record on the topic, but the extent to which Americans are incapable of putting themselves in other people's shoes is absolutely incredible and explains a lot of their foreign policy mistakes.

You might think they are just being disingenuous when they claim to have been surprised that China perceived that decision as a hostile act, and I'm not saying they aren't to some extent, but for the most part it's true unfortunately.

Again, I am going to call out this madness everytime I see it. We must not forget about the facts: Jason Arday's death is a tragedy, but the media had every right and indeed should have reported on what is an academic scandal.

We have evidence from some of the best and least right-wing biased publications in the world, including @nytimes, that Jason Arday was utterly unqualified for the job he was given. That he lied in ways that were extremely easy to spot for anyone above 6 and that everyone at Cambridge responsible for his hiring chose to ignore this, in what must have been an "Emperor's New Clothes" situation.

This is not just about Arday: reporting on this is relevant to the topic of the decline in our institutions. All the glaring mistakes I listed above are just the tip of the iceberg. For example, the entire discipline Arday was operating in, education studies, is a joke that seems to have been created by an enemy of our civilization. It has promoted false ideas about education for years, including the concept that all kids are the same. This has led to bad policy measures, like reducing advanced maths classes, and a degradation of the education system, with devastating effects especially on bright kids from less advantaged families.
