A source says they coordinated fire alarm, sprinkler, fire pump, hydrant, and kitchen suppression testing for Brown University for more than a decade.

According to the source, inspections followed a strict monthly schedule created by Brown’s security and maintenance teams, with a heavy security presence at all times. Authorized technicians were fixed, substitutions required prior approval with full identifying information, and Brown security escorted and remained with inspection teams throughout each visit, including at off campus buildings.

Based on that experience, the source finds it difficult to believe Brown University would allow a building to remain open without card access or oversight.
