BREAKING: Carlo Scissura is resigning from the largely symbolic chairmanship of the Brooklyn Democratic Party, after presiding over last week’s 13-hour Zoom meeting https://t.co/p3p0EXXImn
After nearly 13 hours — and multiple attempts by the Party to prevent a fair vote — County Committee Members were able to vote on the rules reforms for a more transparent and accountable Party.
And we won.
Read the rules that just passed here:

Republicans are Very Mad (again) about my appearance. This time they’re mad that I look good in borrowed clothes (again).
Listen, if Republicans want pointers on looking your best, I’m happy to share.
Tip #1: Drink water and don’t be racist
🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨 We won our lawsuit against @bkdems. They must hold a county committee meeting virtually within 45 days🚨 The rule amendment passed by the Executive Committee has been annulled. Democracy grows in Brooklyn. @newkingsdems@AMBichotte
I try not to get too upset about cancellations. But I'm so sad about GLOW, bc I fell for that show the minute I saw the pilot—so bold, warped and goofy, and yet, so emotionally sharp & realistic about the 1980s for women. AND I WANTED TO SEE BETTY GILPIN HEAD UP A TV NETWORK.
update. we're getting details of negotiated deal btwn Speaker/Mayor, as reported by @politicony. As expected, weak sauce. "deal involves moving school safety agents to DOE, canceling July class of ~1K police recruits, & shifting [some] homeless outreach away from police control."
Tomorrow @CoreyinNYC & @NYCMayor will try to pull a fast one on the people of New York.
We marched by the thousands to demand they #DefundTheNYPD. Instead, they're shuffling money for cops between budgets & hoping we don't notice.
But we do.
The council must reject this fraud.
BREAKING: @NYCmayor commits to end solitary, but uses a well-worn stalling tactic of creating a working group—and it includes a reform opponent & a Commissioner whose agency says solitary doesn’t exist. After the deaths of #LayleenPolanco & many others, this torture must end now.
This budget is not a victory for the people.
Teachers and social service providers are going to lose their jobs, but not one cop will be fired because of this budget.
That’s not justice. That’s not the sacrifice this moment demands.
We need a real cut to the NYPD
LESS THAN 24 HOURS UNTIL NYC COUNCIL BUDGET VOTE. Apparently Speaker/Mayor negotiating a smoke & mirrors budget that DOES NOT drastically reduce headcount, get cops out of schools, homeless "engagement," or subways/transit, etc. Learn more & contact ur CM: https://t.co/1yvHleq0Eb
@NYCSpeakerCoJo @StephenLevin33 Will these be real cuts, and not just reshuffling the same funding into other agencies? We demand more than accounting tricks.
@NYCSpeakerCoJo Will you make a commitment to real change in terms of headcount, overtime, and militarized weapons at the NYPD? Reshuffling salaries to the DOE is not the same. Take a real stand here.
Did you know that CUNY used to be free? And that they started charging the minute it started educating majority PoC? And that to make it free again it would cost $812 million? And that that's how much the NYPD spent on overtime alone last year? #MakeCUNYFreeAgain#DefundTheNYPD
