@melfmaster @khgb_kg @stupidtechtakes on one hand, its really a prescriptivist vs descriptivist issue. i agree on what ppl intend when they use the term, i'm moreso offering insight as to why someone in cs might view the common usage of the word as improper (or to an extreme, technologically illiterate)

@khgb_kg @stupidtechtakes not that it's inherently wrong, but its often misunderstood as a separation b/w "bad" and "good" ai (i.e. genAI replaces artists and produces slop, while "real" ai is used productively in healthcare, etc.) w/o realizing how the latter cases are more often than not also generative
