@0x11eaea @realsled I feel like Zoom needs CMU IDs (so that SSO works and students can use the pro-level features), but not any additional data or real names.
@0x11eaea @realsled I think the LMS has to have names that match the registrar’s office, at least at some level, in order to be usable. I could see some workaround with anonymized unique IDs doing the link, but I think the cost of data entry errors would be pretty bad.
@0x11eaea @realsled Yeah, “can students use this without a login” and if not, “does this only require an email address” were both questions I used to screen tools for this semester.
@0x11eaea Yeah medical/health info running through the university (which is not a HIPAA-bound entity? Except maybe health services is?) is new territory. 😬
@0x11eaea I think the answer to this is “no”, in the US. Other than complaining. My colleagues in BC, otoh, have been told that they cannot require their students to use any service that collects any personal info, even an email address, unless its privacy has been vetted by the uni.
@crazyfillyjonk Not sure what to make of the apparent connection between avian mascots and cereal-induced madness, here. Are birds particularly susceptible?
5:28pm. We walk into Alewife as a train departs. No problem, it’s rush hour, trains every 4 minutes, and we have 18 minutes to go two stops. We board the train on the platform.
@MBTA
@MBTA@MBTA_CR 5:38pm. Door close. Let’s go! We’re gonna need to run... but we can probably make it.
Doors re-open. And close. And re-open. And close... and re-open. Staff come running.
The upside to the @MBTA_CR Littleton lot being such a shitshow is that we were early enough for train 408 that we could catch late train 406 instead. On a morning like this, that’s probably a 30-40 minute difference in arrival time.
