Good scouts are not always right.

That's not a failure. That's the job.

A scout who's worked at the top level said it to our Recruitment Room members last week: even at the highest level, a hit rate over 60% is good. Really good.

Yes, 60%

The best in the world can still get 4 signings in 10 wrong.

And yet people trying to break into football want to make sure they're always right. They will:

> hide their work because they might be wrong
> worry that other people might have different opinions
> won't put out a single piece of work until it's perfect

But you're never 100% sure. Nobody is.

Being willing to be wrong in public, and learn from it, is the actual skill. Not being right every time.

"Experts" in the game aren't always right.

They're the ones who kept putting their work / ideas / opinions out, and continued to learn.
