And that’s it for Year 1 submissions! 🤩 Cannot believe how quickly this year has gone and how much I have learned and achieved. Now for a summer of thesis ethics applications and systematic literature reviews…🤪
surprised by how much I enjoyed being in nursery on placement last week 🤗 the highlight definitely being hearing 2 words from a little boy who hasn’t spoken in nursery for 2 years! 🥰 amazing what little ones can do with the right support✨
really not sure where last term went 😧 another 2 reports down, now to start working on EY cases and thesis proposals, first year will be over before I know it 😵💫
Read it twice…in fact read it as many times as it takes to process it, to understand it, to actually feel it in your bones to the point your instinct is always, always to meet emotional needs & deal with that, nobody wants the behaviours from unmet needs least of all the child👌🏼
@neatguy_doyle In the process of thinking about thesis topics and proposals - will be thinking long and hard about whether to go for qualitative methods having seen this 😂😬

We have about half the participants we need. We would like at least 130. Anyone over 16 can take part. It really doesn't take long and she would be very very grateful as time is ticking. Please retweet widely. Thank you 😍
While procrastinating from drafting my systematic literature review, I’m reflecting on how much we’ve managed to do in a relatively short period of time🐘✨
Feels like it’ll be the end of first year in no time 😬
“Words written about but without me”
This is such a powerful reminder to place utmost importance on taking a child-centred approach. The world needs professionals who vow to work with diligence, kindness and empathy every day.
An Open Letter to the Social Worker who Wrote my Case Notes
18 months ago I published this letter after accessing my care files. It was a raw, honest account of what it felt like to process words written about, but without me.
Much to my surprise, it went viral. I cannot 🧵1/
We've had a really tough time recruiting for this project, and would be SO grateful if any eligible people could spare some time to take part and/or if people could share our ad. It's such an important and under-studied topic - we really want to do it justice (pardon the pun!)
I am still looking for young people aged 18 - 25 with Cerebral Palsy to participate in my thesis study exploring the lived experiences of young people with CP in the UK. If this is you or you know someone who might be interested please feel free to get in touch. Thank you! ✨
Starting to feel the pinch with the workload now 😬 looking forward to a 3 day placement block next week to give more time to my casework! 🤓#TEPs#traineeeducationalpsychologist
