After 9 years in the National Trust’s social media team, it’s my last week. I’ve loved it. Here’s just a few memorable moments…
Dara Ó Briain cheering us on during Eastergate. Sniffer dogs for April Fools. Talking to Stephen about our members. Oh, and *that* sassy reply.
@bernarddonoghue Thank you, that’s kind of you to say. Your tweets of solidarity and support (especially over the last couple of years) have been hugely appreciated by the social media team. We’d often share your words and it’d give a little more wind to our sails.
@CeliaRichards0n Though this did prompt me to look up the Italian for robin, our Italian feathery friends are pettirosso (literally translating as little red)… think I’ll be pointing at robins and saying “pettirosso!” from here on in.
Our ‘anti-wokery’ critics today throw in ‘profit-making’ as another *bad thing*. The National Trust fundraises to care for the UK’s coast, countryside, art & buildings. That’s literally why we’ve existed for 127 years, have millions of supporters & are emulated around the world.
Calling all social media people. There's a brilliant role up for grabs at the National Trust. They’re looking for a new social media manager to lead their wonderful social media team: https://t.co/JFpSG1zs0I 👀
‘These wee things were objects of delight.’
I’ve never seen a glowworm, outside of films. So much so, they almost feel like a mythical creature. How exciting they’re being bred in captivity to be released in southern England. I’d love to see one. https://t.co/6WlWzPcc1H
Neighbour backing onto my garden damaged mine and my next door neighbour’s trees by some rogue, aggressive pruning.
Next door neighbour popped round, and said he was tempted to call the police and ask for special branch.
Bravo sir, bravo.
