When the rains come, safety must come first.
Floodwaters can rise quickly and turn dangerous within minutes. Through our #UrbanDignityCampaign, AERC Ghana is sharing simple but life-saving precautions to help protect families and communities during this rainy season.
AERC Ghana welcomes the EPA’s decision to ban styrofoam and takeaway packs effective January 2027.
This is an important step toward reducing plastic pollution, protecting public health, preventing flooding, and building cleaner communities. But a ban alone is not enough…
Ghana needs a fair, practical, and inclusive Foam-Free Transition Plan that supports small businesses, food vendors, institutions, and consumers to switch to safer and sustainable alternatives.
Our message is simple: Don’t wait for the ban. Start the switch today….
to share ideas, inspire action, and strengthen local commitment to environmental protection.

Eid Mubarak to our Muslim brothers and sisters!
As we celebrate Eid-Al-Adha, may this sacred season bring peace, love, sacrifice, and countless blessings to every home and community.
Happy African Union Day!
Today, we celebrate Africa’s rich culture, resilience, diversity, and unity. Together, we can build a more sustainable, empowered, and prosperous Africa for all.
Flooding is not “normal.”
It’s a warning about how we build, plan, and protect our cities.
In Accra and across Ghana, floods are destroying homes, livelihoods, roads, and dignity. But resilient cities are possible when nature and infrastructure work together…..
Imagine cities with:
•Wetlands protected, not destroyed
•Green spaces that absorb rain
•Drains designed to actually flow
•Communities included in planning
Because flood resilience is not just engineering.
It is justice. It is safety. It is dignity.
