To those opposing five-day banking:Have you seen bank branches lit up late into the night?
Those lights aren’t on bcz someone forgot to switch them off. They’re burning because someone is still inside—burning their heart and brain to keep banking running
#5DayBankingNow#FBOIOA
905 days since the 9th Joint Note.
997 days since the December 2023 understanding when 5 Day Banking Promise was agreed in written.
Digital payments are 99.7% of transaction volume. Cheques, 2.3% of value. RBI, LIC & GIC already work five days. And Bankers offered 40 extra minutes a weekday for it. Despite everything they failed to keep the promise. A signed commitment is not a suggestion but an obligation.
Read the revised PLI matrix carefully.
In EVERY scenario — even where the Bank scores above 80% and performed magnificently — the bottom bracket receives Rs 0.

5-Day Work Week: A Standard for Productivity, Growth & Efficiency and a norm for ethical workplace.
Across sectors globally, the 5-day work week boosts productivity, enhances efficiency, reduces work-related stress, and fosters growth.
In India -
✅ Central Govt. – 5 days week, Limited service alternatives on weekends
✅ State Govts.– 5 days week, Limited service alternatives on weekends
✅ RBI – 5 days week, Very few service alternatives on weekends
✅ LIC – 5 days week, Some service alternatives on weekends
✅ Courts – 5 days week, No alternatives on weekends
✅ Stock Exchange– 5 days week, Trading closed on weekends
✅ Most MNCs and private companies– 5 days week, limited work on weekends, barring some exceptions.
❌ Indian Banking Sector– 𝟱 𝗱𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲s is still pending despite providing 𝟮𝟰𝘅𝟳 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 & digital 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘀.
An agreement between the management of all Banks represented by IBA (Indian Banks Association) and employees unions has already been signed, and the IBA has recommended it to the government. Yet, the implementation remains pending.
Banking is a demanding & high-pressure service industry with long hours of work and zero tolerance for human errors. If any sector deserves a 5-day work week on priority, it’s banking.
Bank employees and their families fervently hope that this much-needed reform will be declared soon.
We urge the government @FinMinIndia, @PMOIndia, @DFS_India to prioritize this decision for the well-being of bank employees and to further enhance the banking sector’s efficiency.

I work in Bank of India. It was founded on this very day 116 years ago as one of the earliest purely Indian Bank during British times. Bank of India has always been the bank of Indian people.
It shall remain so and that's what we are fighting for.

The most significant impact of the Quit India Movement was that it made the British taste the power of the Indian masses. Bankers now making the Masters taste the power of unity against Privatisation.

In a developing country like India there is a need for exercising strict control over credit created by banks. With the nationalisation of banks, RBI was able to control them in a better way.
