They don’t see everything either.

No one asked you to help, support, or give anything away and demanding something from people who owe you nothing is ridiculous.

It sounds more like you did what you did, not because you wanted to help the community.
You want endorsement in some way from them.
If you didn’t you wouldn’t be pressed in any way that they didn’t give you something in return.
