maybe i’m being naive but i still believe good still exists in our fandom. it’s just the reason it seems otherwise is because the minority bad apples have become the loudest.

i think we need to get back to basics with the fundamentals of what it means to be army: doing everything within our power to support bts while simultaneously leading by example to make this world a much better place.

one positive to bts becoming mainstream is our fandom has grown immensely however the downside is since there are so many of us spread out across not just this app but every social platform and offline it’s impossible to keep everyone in check and run the strict program the way we were able to before. now i think our goal should be to focus on the things we can control versus being distracted by the things that are completely out of our control. you can’t control what others are doing but you can control what you choose to participate in. also publicly shaming those engaging in vile behavior.

yes, we need to keep informing everyone of army etiquette but the only way we can make meaningful change is to lead by example. respecting bts’ privacy, respecting your fellow armys, spreading positivity. we still have the ability to drown out the toxicity that we unfortunately can’t control by distancing ourselves from the bad apples rather than allowing them to become the voices of the fandom.
