We extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Alphonse Yahaya for sharing his expertise and guiding scholars through the practical process of translating ideas into actionable policy.
Week 2 in motion.
This week, the scholars gathered for their second learning session facilitated by Mr. Alphonse Yahaya on “The Architecture of a Policy: From Problem to Design.”
The session introduced scholars to the key stages of policy creation, from identifying problems and gathering evidence to engaging stakeholders, evaluating policy options, and refining recommendations.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Victor Alikor for taking the time to lead this session and for his continued commitment to mentoring and supporting AESP scholars.
Learning is underway.
This week, scholars participated in their first learning session: “Who really builds and makes policy in Africa? Understanding the role of young people.”
The session provided valuable insights into policymaking, leadership, and the role of young people in shaping Africa’s future. Scholars were encouraged to organize, amplify their voices, participate actively, and build relevant skills.
The journey has officially begun.
This week, the new scholars came together for their first virtual gathering, marking the official start of their journey through the African Economic Scholars Program.
From meeting fellow scholars and the AESP team to exploring the 10-week learning journey ahead, the orientation session gave scholars a clearer understanding of the program, its structure, and what to expect in the weeks ahead.
To our newest AESP Scholars, welcome to the community. We look forward to learning, growing, and building the future of African policy and development together.
