มูลนิธิผสานวัฒนธรรม แจ้งว่า ศาลฎีกาพิพากษาสั่งกองทัพบกชดใช้ค่าเสียหายให้กับครอบครัวผู้ตายในคดีชัยภูมิ ป่าแส เป็นเงินจำนวน 2,072,400บาท

สำหรับ ชัยภูมิ ป่าแส เป็นเยาวชนนักปกป้องสิทธิมนุษยชน และนักกิจกรรมเยาวชนชาวลาหู่ ถูกเจ้าหน้าที่ทหาร สังกัดกองทัพบก วิสามัญฆาตกรรม บริเวณด่านรินหลวง อ.เชียงดาว จ.เชียงใหม่ เมื่อวันที่ 17 มี.ค.60 ที่ผ่านมา

ตลอดระยะเวลาที่ผ่านมาครอบครัว เพื่อนๆ และทีมทนาย ได้ต่อสู้เพื่อทวงความยุติธรรมให้กับชัยภูมิมาโดยตลอด ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการเรียกร้องให้กองทัพบกเปิดเผยภาพจากกล้องวงจรปิดที่บันทึกเหตุการณ์วันเกิดเหตุ

รวมถึงการฟ้องร้องเรียกค่าเสียหายทางแพ่งจากกองทัพบก ซึ่งเป็นหน่วยงานต้นสังกัด ที่วิสามัญฆาตกรรมชัยภูมิ

โดยการยื่นฎีกาเกิดขึ้นหลังจากที่ศาลอุทธรณ์ได้อ่านคำพิพากษา เมื่อวันที่ 26 ม.ค.2565 โดยได้พิพากษายืนตามศาลชั้นต้น คือ ยกฟ้องฝ่ายกองทัพบก ซึ่งหลังศาลอุทธรณ์มีคำพิพากษา ครอบครัว และทนายความเห็นต่างกับคำพิพากษาของศาลชั้นต้น และศาลอุทธรณ์ จนนำมาสู่การยื่นฎีกา
