Why is the music industry so competitive. I feel like other art communities support each other way more

It feels like music is just an ego thing for a lot of people. It’s about appearing as big as possible just for the sake of seeming important. Not everyone obviously

Obviously because of the state of all things, art and culture are not in the best place, but I think to act like nobody is making anything good at all anymore is to feed into an underlying cynicism that excuses you from having to engage with anything new ever again
