I’ve had a great run with @voteforthegirls. Happy that #HannahHarper won @AmericanIdol. It’s a good way to go in a blaze of glory.
However, I am officially retired as #VoteForTheGirls host after 15 years but I will still be credited for launching this project in 2010.
Heading into the midterms of Spring 2026 at IU Online, I don’t think I have ever achieved a feat like this. All A’s for the first time in my academic career spanning nearly 40 years. Hopefully I will hang on until the finals in May. #AcademicSuccess#AcademicExcellence#All_As
This milestone represents renewal, persistence, and the next step in my academic and creative journey. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. 💚🏛️ #OhioUniversity#Resilience#NewChapter
On November 18, 2025 at 8:05 PM, I received my admission to @ohiou , marking a new chapter in Communication Studies with minors in Film & Media Studies and Music Technology.
A note about change. I’ve been walking with a cane since 2022. Now I use a walker. I’ve learned back in September I have coronary heart disease. Nearly 128M Americans live with it. Like Peter Jennings said: “Living is the key word.” I intend to keep living—with purpose. #AvaZinn
We can also reveal that @aeverinezinn is retiring as the host at the end of this season. Janice Morganstein to take over yet Ava will stay on as creative consultant.

No interview yet, no job offer— so don't get too excited just yet, y'all!
Still, this is a big step. From
Van Buren to RAT TV at
Mississinewa High School to broadcast journalism, l've been building a living archive since 11/1/1999. Now I'm seeing where it might go next.
This is one post I never imagined having the daunting duty of writing.
But it’s the position I find myself in.
At 10:32 PM on August 9, 2025, I officially failed POL275: Politics & Film.
It’s the first time I’ve failed a class since May 27, 1988—after my preschool year.
My family (wife @BreeannaZinnWX, children Tabitha, Kenny, Sierra, Lyssa, Leeland, and Jessica), my cat @CapriceZinn, and dog @GabriellaZinn will be with me as much as possible, but there are lots of hours to fill.
Thanks for your prayers and concern.
This past Thursday, I took a courageous step by undergoing a heart MRI scan and just reviewed the empowering results from the heart MRI scan at @ParkviewHealth, and it's official. It is an atrial septal defect, which was either this or chronic fatigue syndrome, or possibly both.
