PART 1 ~ INTRO

After watching their livestream last night, there was actually one part of their conversation that stayed in my head longer than I expected. The more I thought about what they said and the way they talked about their experiences, the more I realised there are actually two different POVs worth looking at here.

And somehow, both sides tell a really beautiful story about growth.

This is purely my perspective from what I observed and heard during their livestream last night, especially when they talked about experiencing more things, seeing more places and what they hope to do together in the future. It made me look back at how much both of them have changed along the way.

Because when I look at them now, I don’t think the growth is happening only on one side. Both of them are growing, just in completely different ways.

Elio seems to be discovering more of himself, becoming increasingly confident, understanding his own worth and opening himself up to a much wider world. Meanwhile, Ayden seems to be experiencing another kind of change. After being accustomed to doing so many things by himself, he now has someone beside him to share those experiences, memories and even his future plans with.

And strangely enough, these two completely different kinds of growth seem to meet beautifully somewhere in the middle.

So before my brain continues yapping and turns this into another accidental thesis 😂, let me break it down from Elio’s POV first, then Ayden’s POV, and finally where I think both sides eventually meet.

오늘 라이브가 끝나고, 통통이의 성장에 에이든이 꽤나 씁쓸해한다는 반응들을 많이 봤음. 실제로 예전 라이브에서 "의존하지 못할 바엔 어른이 안 되는 게 낫지"라고 말했던 에이든을 떠올려 보면, 실시간으로 보면서도 어느 정도 예상했던 반응들이기도 했음.

​하지만 통통이 입장에서 생각해 보면, 최근 에이든의 빡빡한 스케줄에 모든 걸 혼자 짊어지려다 무리하고 몸 상태까지 안 좋아진 걸 보면서 분명 힘이 되어주고 싶었을 거라 생각함. 그래서 스스로 의존성을 줄이려 했던 게 아닐까? 더 나아가 이제는 에이든이 자신에게 어느 정도 기댈 수 있기를 바랐을지도 모름.

​둘의 관���는 워낙 다면적이라 잠깐의 라이브 단면만 보고 전부 단정할 수는 없겠지만, 서로 끊임없이 맞춰가고 조율하면서 앞으로 더 단단하고 좋은 관계를 만들어가지 않을까 싶음.
그러니 예쁜 커플 사진이나 봐야지🧡

🐺: there was one time when i went to jordan. you know, there’s a place called wadi rum in the jordanian desert. people say that the desert looks like mars. the moon was hanging high in the sky that night, but somehow it felt incredibly close to the ground there. i don’t know why there was such a visual difference. then we drove around in an off-road vehicle, just chasing after the moon, and it kept looking bigger and bigger the closer we got. i thought it was absolutely magical.

the more places you go and the more experiences you have, the more your understanding of the world keeps being refreshed. i think broadening your horizons takes time, but it also takes opportunities to keep exploring and discovering new things.

I feel like Ayden isn't just sad, he's kinda feeling the change too.. he's so used to being the person Elio can always run to, his safe place.. and the person Elio always needs, so seeing Elio become more independent must hit diff. he's obviously proud, but i think a part of him still wishs he could keep Elio close like this a little longer🥺
