Shame for Timber, who did everything to make the Champions League final.
From an Arsenal point of view, a complete summer rest certainly does feel like the best option for him.
Gabriel, Declan Rice and David Raya have all been nominated for the PFA player's player of the year award.
The six nominees:
- Gabriel
- Declan Rice
- David Raya
- Bruno Fernandes
- Rayan Cherki
- Erling Haaland
The winners of the various PFA awards will be announced at a special ceremony in Manchester on Tuesday, August 25.
๐จ Arsenal have already started working and planning for summer signings.
At least 3 signings are expected, could
be even more based on exits.
Top winger the priority; midfielder and right back also almost guaranteed. Strikers situation to follow.

Arsenal ready to embark on a more ambitious cycle on and off pitch: more inventive players, fuelled by money from commercial money, sales including academy. Opportunity to dominate English football with rival clubs beginning a period of transition

My final thoughts on the season (and then a much needed mental and physical break lol):
An incredible season, on balance. So many positive steps taken and so much momentum moving forward. Of course, that begins with getting over the line in the Premier League which finally gets the monkey off the back. Seeing the outpouring of joy after that has been incredible, culminating in today's parade. But further than that, saw Mikel become more malleable and adaptable in his approach - the inclusion of MLS changed the midfield dynamics and in previous season's, I firmly believe he just rides Zubi into the ground and we probably lose the league.
As for the Champions League. Another massive step but there's only one way to describe the result last night and that's devastated. To get that close and to be in the game state you want that plays to your absolute strengths and have it come down to one rash moment and then the lottery of pens...no words to describe that pain and lost a lot of sleep over it. However, that pain is exactly what you want to be feeling because it means you're competing for the top trophies which is exactly where this football club belongs. That pain makes the joy even better, as we saw with the incredible scenes and emotion after finally winning the Prem.
There's a quote by legendary Duke Coach K that goes "does winning quell a fire or start a fire". I firmly believe this ownership, coaching and player group are the latter. That was immediately echoed by Mikel in the post match last night, with his thoughts on how the club will have to be even stronger moving forward, namely in individual attack and in availability (key example was Timber's absence).
All in all, an incredible season to break the 22 year PL drought when the league has never been more challenging and even more fuel to the fire to compete and win our first Champions League trophy. There are steps you cannot skip in this process and now it's time to really build on this momentum, keep evolving, and address the weaknesses.
Victory through harmony, never seen the club rowing all in the same direction as they are now. Lets keep going. Until next season. COYG
