Pete Crow-Armstrong of the @Cubs is one of three players in MLB history to have a month with:
.375+ batting average
.775+ slugging pct
80+ total bases
15+ walks
10+ home runs
5+ stolen bases
The others are Babe Ruth (June 1920, July 1920, May 1930) and Lou Gehrig (June 1930).
Shohei Ohtani ($70 million) and Kyle Tucker ($60 million) are not only the highest AAV's in MLB history, but the two combine (at $130 million) to make more than 10 MLB clubs spent on their entire payrolls last year.
The Kansas City Royals missed making this list by $1,500.
Not all games are eligible for week 0. They can only happen in accordance with specific week 0 rules. Those rules are:
- Playing in a foreign country
- Playing at Hawaii
- Special “kick off classics” at Neutral sites that require special NCAA approval.
ND played that game in Dublin, Ireland which made it allowable.
Week 0 at a neutral site or in another country is an awful time to try and play your rivalry game.
It was an unserious offer from USC that was never intended to be accepted but it provided an opportunity for them to give the perception that “ND also said no”.
Most college football fans aren’t educated enough on the rules to catch on to this so I figured I’d help out.
The College Football Playoff selection committee really screwed up this time.
The process has to work for the CFP to earn and keep our trust. This one didn’t. This one made a mockery of the whole sport.
