With Apologies to Asad Iqbal! I initially thought that Asad Iqbal, who opened debate at Oxford Union, in support of Liberal Democracy, may have framed his arguments with a narrow lens focusing too much on Imran Khan’s incarceration thus prompting Ahsan Iqbal to structure his response against Imran Khan calling IK, Taliban Khan, corrupt etc.
Since then I have watched whole debate and Asad Iqbal was brilliant - Ahsan Iqbal couldn’t understand the topic! And he simply didn’t understand the very concept of “Liberal Democracy” - but can we blame him? After years of living under Sharif family’s brutal fascism how can the poor man differentiate between “Right” or “Wrong”?
