Today I have written to Mr Price on behalf of the mother of a 14-year-old autistic girl who was allegedly laughed at by staff after asking for help with defective products.

No autistic child should be humiliated for seeking assistance.

As the Representative for Underrepresented Groups on the Commonwealth Disabled Peoples Forum, I believe this is about more than one incident—it is about dignity, equality, reasonable accommodation, and the rights guaranteed under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

I hope Mr Price will investigate this matter thoroughly, apologise to the family, and strengthen disability awareness across its stores.
