I've met a few people for whom the English Reformation and the English Civil war were very real and present issues that they felt very strongly about. Incredibly weird and strange people but really fascinating
@sbodrojan Watching star trek on an outdated android with a cracked screen propped up on bibles in the dayroom with a bunch of schizophrenics>>>>>>
Billie Holiday used to pick up extra shifts sweeping the floor at the brothel she was forced to work in at 10 years old just so she could hear Louis Armstong and Bessie Smith on the jukebox. Lady Day forever!
Not to be the friend who is too woke but why not leave Lady day out of it seeing as she was pretty much continually sexually abused from early childhood on as she literally wrote about in her famous autobiography
If you're ever bored you should read this Grinch 2 script btw it's a genuine piece of art. I still don't know if it probably being the single worst movie script I've ever seen (by a large margin) makes it more or less likely to be bizarre performance art:

Came across a reference to this Eileen Myles poem in Andrew Epstein’s “‘Raw’ Poets” (2024) while working on revisions for an article forthcoming in Bishop–Lowell Studies. Interesting.
