Official Twitter Page for the American Federation of Government Employees — the largest federal employee union, representing 800,000 workers. RTs ≠ endorsement.
Don’t be fooled — this is a blatant attempt to corrupt the federal government by eliminating employees’ due process rights so they can be fired for political reasons.
Thank you @POTUS for signing the Schedule Policy/Career executive order today to create greater accountability and restore democratic principles to the operation of the Executive branch. https://t.co/p0b8QnLIFc
Only in Washington do leaders try to cover up their chaotic, wasteful and anti-American attempts to dismantle the federal government by trying to force their workers to sign NDAs.
AFGE is grateful to @SenatorHassan and @SenatorLankford for reintroducing the Prevent Government Shutdowns Act of 2026 which would take government shutdowns off the table and force Congress to stay in town until their work is done.
Thank you for standing up for AFGE members ✊
The American people are tired of worthless government shutdown drama and Congress using federal workers and government services as pawns in political standoffs. The Prevent Government Shutdowns Act ends government shutdowns forever with a simple idea: if Congress doesn't do its job, Congress doesn't get to go home. Read more⬇️ https://t.co/pnZAwLuLus
.@TSA Agents are the frontlines of protecting travelers and defending our aviation system from evolving threats.
In @HomelandGOP yesterday, I thanked the dedicated TSA personnel in Texas and across the country who continued to serve unpaid through the Democrat-caused longest government shutdown in history. Their commitment to protecting America is truly remarkable.
25 years after the terror attacks on September 11, 2001, we remain grateful for the dedicated @TSA workers repped by @AFGENational.
As @AFGEPrezKelley says, we must continue to support this vital workforce that keeps the flying public safe.
Secretary Pete Hegseth Just Declared War on Federal Unions
The "Department of War" is moving to revoke collective bargaining agreements for federal employees. But the union’s existence depends on its members, not government recognition. The fight isn't over. (@AFGENational)
🧵
To rip up the union contracts of DOD employees after touting a successful ceasefire with Iran is not only a slap in the face to those who supported those efforts, but again proves that this action has nothing to do with national security & everything to do with silencing workers.
The Department of Defense canceled its collective bargaining agreements with the union representing around 300,000 agency employees, the latest in a series of contract cancellations as the Trump administration seeks to reshape the federal workforce. https://t.co/oRlNl5wA28
Our union has successfully challenged illegal attempts to strip our members of their union rights by terminating their collective bargaining agreements, and we will continue to do so.
A collective bargaining agreement is a contract and AFGE fought hard to achieve these rights for workers. This is just one more example of the Trump administration undermining the rights of union members while trying to convince Americans that they stand for working people. Union busting is disgusting and I stand with AFGE. @AFGENational

90% of VA's Police officers are veterans themselves, and many officers want to "pay it forward" to their fellow veterans. VA and OPM's downgrades negate that mission. We must pass @RepTimKennedy's H.R. 8010 to protect and improve the safety and security of veterans and VA employees.
