RM @RepMarkTakano's discharge petition is five signatures away from forcing a clean vote on the Major Richard Star Act in the House. To prevent that from happening, Republicans introduced a new package to distract and delay a vote on the overdue benefits for combat veterans.

When we fight, we win! ⚖️
The federal appeals court just delivered a major blow to the VA's illegal union-busting, upholding the contract for over 320,000 public servants who care for our heroes.
Proud to stand in solidarity with @AFGENational@afgenvac. ✊🇺🇸
The First Circuit has denied the VA's plea for an emergency stay; as a result, the preliminary injunction granted to the NVAC by Judge DuBose on March 13th, 2026, stays in place. When we stand together, we can make a difference for VA employees and U.S. veterans everywhere.
Tune in TODAY at 4:00 PM ET to hear Matthew Leffler, Vice President of AFGE Local 1699, give his testimony to the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.

America wasn’t built by greedy billionaires and corporations. Working people all across the country have always been keeping the economy running.
Today on May Day, workers are peacefully standing up, speaking out and fighting back.
VA chief says facilities can hire for their needs, even with staffing baselines and approvals still in place after large vacancy cuts. Lawmakers point to declines in doctors and nurses and question capacity. via @EricM_Katz: https://t.co/nsIFVlYxdR #VA#veterans
On Workers Memorial Day, America’s unions mourn the workers who have lost their lives or been injured or made ill on the job.
Every worker should be able to go home after their shift safe and healthy, and we’ll keep fighting like hell to make that a reality for every worker.
EXCLUSIVE: New #VA data shows a mixed picture on wait times, with some facilities and specialties improving while others are getting worse. Reporting from @EricM_Katz and @AlmsNatalie: https://t.co/TOGHsIBF5u #Veterans#VeteransAffairs

90% of VA's Police officers are veterans themselves, and many officers want to "pay it forward" to their fellow veterans. VA and OPM's downgrades negate that mission. We must pass @RepTimKennedy's H.R. 8010 to protect and improve the safety and security of veterans and VA employees.
Trump officials terminated bargaining rights for VA workers, even canceling approved maternity leave for new mothers. @afgenvac went to court to restore their contract, but the Trump Administration is defying the order. Follow the law or face the consequences, Secretary Collins!
This National Physicians Week, we extend our deepest gratitude to VA physicians who make a profound difference in the lives of veterans every day. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, expertise, and care in service to our nation’s heroes.
VA has not taken ANY concrete steps to comply with the preliminary injunction. We will continue to take all necessary action to enforce the court's orders. Join us in remaining vigilant.
