Turks assimilated most of the Tajik homeland of of central asia, including samarqand and bukhara. In Afg, persian is still the lingua franca under pashtun rule & had been that for 5 centuries

@whit48128 That will never happen, tajiks/farsiwan and Pashtuns are too much intermixed. Most families have members of eachother, and all provinces have both ethnics nativized.

Herat has almost 40% pashtuns, that province was the jewel of persians.
