Thanks @VCHResearch for featuring @NinetLab! It is a privilege to be working in the lab along with its wonderful people. A short blurb of what we do in the lab: https://t.co/25u6Imq4Bh
Thanks @DMCBrainHealth for featuring our collaborative work - highlights included substudy papers from AcT, multidisciplinary guidelines on CVT from @HeartandStroke and @StrokeAHA_ASA, and new vantages on cervical artery dissection. https://t.co/3mEDjZNcD3
Thank you to this INCREDIBLE volunteer team and guest panelists that made our #WearRedCanada q&a event a success, you were all superstars! 🥰 Had a fantastic time and learned so much… we did it!! 🙌 #HerHeartMatters
Looking forward to CVC rounds tomorrow with Dr Manav Vyas (U Toronto) who will be discussing immigration status, stroke and social disparities. 12-1 Vancouver time; message us for the link!
Check out the latest from the lab: Lead by Alex Terpstra in collaboration with @BecketTodd @ubcdaslab Cognitive-affective (aka Hot-Cognition) processes and suicidality in response to #rTMS. https://t.co/b14WOjd6WQ
Join us tomorrow from 12-1 Vancouver time for CVC rounds. Dr Thalia Field will be giving an overview of ongoing and upcoming clinical trials at the Vancouver Stroke Program! DM us for the link.
This project was a major lab effort over a long haul and I'm thankful for everyone that contributed to it; special thanks to Michelle Avina (2nd author) who has played a critical role for a looong time.
Stoked the lab made it to the front cover of @APAPsychiatric July's edition! Well done @RuiyangGe and team! Thanks, @BrainCanada 🥂🎊🎉 "Predictive Value of Acute Neuroplastic Response to rTMS in Treatment Outcome in Depression: a TMS-fMRI Trial" https://t.co/GCo8vnZ4kf
For our final talk on @UBC_Psychiatry Research Day, Dr. Fidel Vila-Rodriguez @NinetLab is presenting on "Concurrent TMS-fMRI as a tool to interrogate the mechanism of
action of rTMS in depression"
Thanks to all our fantastic speakers who presented today!
MRI study examining how rTMS works: researchers @NINETLAB@DMCBrainHealth found that in patients with treatment-resistant depression, brain response during the first rTMS session was associated with the likelihood of getting better with a full rTMS course. https://t.co/YM5DwsMmNN
This work was led by @RuiyangGe, with invaluable contributions by Afifa Humaira, @Liz_cg_, and Dr. @GolnoushA from the lab. Collaborators Drs. @Frangougroup @BecketTodd Erin MacMillan Sean Nestor and Laura Barlow. 🙏🙏🙏 7/8
Our latest paper is out in @APA_Publishing American Journal of Psychiatry! In this study, we explore the predictive value of rTMS-induced changes in functional connectivity for folks with treatment-resistant depression using concurrent rTMS-fMRI. 1/8 https://t.co/mSPGLJK9lW
With the help of patient partner Lisa, Dr. Fidel Vila-Rodriguez @NinetLab led a first-of-its-kind study that compared side effects associated with rTMS treatments & translated the findings into an infographic for patients: https://t.co/I1DfUVoy48 @DMCBrainHealth@UBC_Psychiatry
Big day in BC for #TMS for #depression. The Health Technology Assessment recommendation is out "It is recommended repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation be publicly provided for treatment-resistant depression." @ubcprez@DMCBrainHealth@HlthResearchBC@VCHResearch
Happy New Year from the newly minted Interventional NeuroPsychiatry Clinic part of the lab now. Running #TMS, TMS-fMRI and more to be announced soon. Remarkable team (part if it here: Quincy, Kyle, Annika, Afifa and myself all eye-smiling 😷) @DMCBrainHealth@VCHResearch
#rTMS is back in the lab! I'm stoked to start recruitment for our first full-on patient-oriented pragmatic trial "PORT" in #depression. This is a trial co-lead by Patient Partner @LisaRidgway8 and myself. We got support from @BCSUPPORTUnit and we are finally recruiting!
