Updates on the inoculated corns on the 5th DPI. Theres streaking on the leaves with the inoculum and no streaking for the negative control. Looking good so far. Disease intensity will be measures on the 7th and 14th DPI.

Some more corn plants were inoculated yesterday to observe and practice some inoculation methods for bacterial leaf streak on corn

The technique we used were syringe leaf infiltration with a 1ml syringe. The inoculum were set at 0.2 OD. The water soaking were marked to then observe the disease onset after a specific DPI.

Screening bacteria for transformants and/or mutants is a very tedious endeavor. Today I found a couple of potentials! The bands are showing at the expected size so its 2/72. Colonies #49 and/or #56. I hope youre it!

What I meant by 2/72 is that I got 2 potentials out of 72 different colony patches!
