The Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Hon. Faruk Lawal Jobe, visited former Secretary to the State Government and opposition leader, Dr. Mustapha Muhammed Inuwa, on June 8, 2026, to discuss political issues and encourage him to return to the APC.
The move comes amid internal disputes within the ADC following its primary elections, with some members questioning the legality and fairness of the process.

Today, just as he did last year, my boss His Excellency Mallam @dikko_radda joined us to launch our Ramadan food distribution to 1,600 households across Katsina.

Governor Radda Unveils Bold Clean Energy Agenda at Nigeria Energy Summit
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to renewable energy and sustainability at the Nigeria Energy Leadership Summit in Lagos.
Represented by Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe, he announced plans to establish Nigeria’s first Ministry of Power, Renewable Energy, and Energy Security, and a Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission with neighbouring states to boost regional grid stability.
The Governor highlighted Katsina’s major renewable milestones, including:
• Over 10MW of solar power and 10MWh battery storage deployed across key state facilities.
• 1MW solar installation at the State Secretariat.
• Completion of a 90% LNG/CNG facility in partnership with Greenville LNG Ltd.
• Ongoing hybridization of the 10MW Lambar Rimi Wind Farm with solar.
• 1MW mini-hydro project at Danja Dam with French partners.
• 1.3MW solar projects powering the Government House and General Hospital.
Governor Radda emphasized that these initiatives will reduce energy costs, support small businesses, and drive economic growth. Katsina’s clean energy vision, he said, aligns with Nigeria’s Net Zero goals and sets the state as a national model for renewable innovation and energy security.
The Katsina State Executive Council, led by Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved several key projects aimed at empowering youth, improving healthcare, upgrading worship centres, and supporting civil servants across the state.
Highlights from the 16th Council Meeting include:
• Youth Empowerment: A new phase of the “Building Your Future” programme to train and engage youths in vocational and technical skills across all 34 LGAs.
• Worship Centres: Rehabilitation of 74 Jumu’at Mosques to promote spiritual and moral development.
• Urban Development: Construction of a new Filin Polo Western Ring Road and renovation of the Youth Craft Village with modern training facilities.
• Healthcare: Approval of ₦700 million counterpart funding for Phase II of the ANRiN Project to improve nutrition and maternal-child health, alongside participation in the AREN 2.0 Programme for human capital development.
• Civil Service Welfare: Expansion of the Rumbun Sauki Programme, including a price reduction of essential goods and establishment of a new warehouse in Malumfashi to improve distribution and affordability for workers.
