JUST IN | The Hindu has learnt that given Japanese PM Takaichi’s domestic commitments, including an ongoing session of the Diet (Japanese Parliament), the window between her proposed arrival in India and her departure is quite tight. In view of this and the additional logistical issues connected to a visit outside the capital, the visit is now likely to be held in Delhi. The Guwahati part of the visit stands cancelled, @janusmyth reports.

Assam: CM @himantabiswa confirms Japan PM’s visit to Guwahati has been cancelled.

Important points,
👉 Japan Ambassador has been in Guwahati for a month.

👉 Hotels, foods & other essentials were arranged and fixed.

👉 In the last minute, the visit was called off.

CM makes an important statement: “Everything is in front of our eyes. Sometimes, we need to self-analyse,” on the reason behind the cancellation, considering events around Guwahati in the last week.

CM says that he has not spoken to the External Affairs Minister to seek the exact reason, but he will soon. Until then, he shall make no official comment.
