Learned about a good friend passing today after a terrible accident. Feeling a little lost. Between the pandemic and motherhood, I haven’t been present for a lot of the people I love. Wishing I could go back in time and invite him to dinner like we’ve been meaning to do for ages.
@JenaFriedman Breastfeeding was really hard for me—I struggled w/ months of milk blisters & latch issues. Couldn’t pump. But it was also the magic sleep/comfort button when nothing else seemed to work. So, yeah. Love/hate, sometimes hate/hate. Now he’s 19 months & it’s all love for boobing.
Toddler magic:
At a café this morning, I noticed that my 19mo had a lumpy bum and felt a concerningly solid poo in his nappy. Went to the car to change him only to discover that it was his wooden toy train.
My usually sleepless 18 month old only woke up once last night and what is this rested feeling? I’m superhuman. I could lift a bus. Or run a marathon. Or just sit here with a cup of coffee already awake. What magic.
@karissachen Now he’s 18 months and I’m sleeping in a twin bed in his room because he’s the worst sleeper ever (nightmare teething) so I’m really glad I put a grown up bed in there… make sure you have something comfy for you too!
@karissachen I was the same. Pregnancy kicked the crap out of me and I so desperately wanted to be one of those nesting moms. My baby didn’t even sleep in his nursery until he was 10 months old, so there’s totally no rush to even build the crib…
