I’m devastated. This one really hurts deeply. Was such a big part of my childhood. We love you, Sam.
May his family find peace during these difficult times ❤️
To millions, he was Dr. Alan Grant, the reluctant hero of Steven Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park.” Sam Neill, the actor who brought quiet gravity to some of the biggest films of his generation, has died. He was 78. https://t.co/eoseI0zEF2
Laura Dern has paid tribute to the late Sam Neill after his tragic passing.
“Sam was my beloved lifetime friend… He showed me the depths of loyalty, protectiveness and love always with the driest of wit.
A true and noble gentleman, who was wrapped up in my dream leading man. I will love you forever, Dr. Alan Grant.”
Steven Spielberg pays tribute to Sam Neill
“I owe a debt of gratitude to Roger Donaldson, Gilliam Armstrong, Graham Baker and Phillip Noyce for casting Sam Neill in the roles in which he was so brilliant that brought him to my attention and led to his playing Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park”
“Sam was exceptionally collaborative. It was a stretch for him to play a character who acted as though children were messy and smelly because this was the opposite of the loving father he was to his children”
“I adored making all the Jurassic movies with him. Along with Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum, we will always have our Jurassic family and Sam will never be forgotten by us or his many millions of fans around the world”
Rest in peace. A true screen legend. 🕊️
Sam Neill brought warmth, wit, and quiet strength to every role he played. For generations, he’ll always be Dr. Alan Grant, the heart of Jurassic Park.
Jurassic Park is one of my all-time favorite movies and holds a very special place in my heart. It's honestly the movie that got me into movies as a kid. Dr. Grant was one of my favorite characters, and I thought he was so cool growing up. Sam Neill was just an amazing person overall, and he lived an incredible life. I am heartbroken, but I am happy that he got to beat cancer and lived his life to the fullest. He will be so missed. This one sucks so fucking bad.
Sam Neill, the versatile actor whose career of more than 50 years was highlighted by his appearances in the “Jurassic Park” and “Jurassic World” franchises, died on Monday in Sydney, Australia. He was 78.
In April, Neill revealed that he was cancer free after being diagnosed in 2022 with stage 3 angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a form of blood cancer.
"Sam was surrounded by family and passed with the dignity that has characterized his whole life,” his family said in a statement. “The loss was sudden and unexpected but blessed by the fact that Sam remained cancer free." https://t.co/Dt5AmNXBgM
