Farhan Moshood Jimba, Chair, AY4F Youth Advisory Council, delivered powerful insights at the AFF–UN-REDD–AY4F side event at #AFWC25 in Banjul 🇬🇲.
He highlighted how youth innovation, technology, and collaboration are key to transforming Africa’s forestry and climate agenda.
AFWC25 is officially open in Banjul, The Gambia, uniting African leaders and partners to advance sustainable forest and wildlife management across the continent.

At #AFWC, Pierre Taty underscored that Africa has restored less than 9% of the 100 million hectares pledged, calling for renewed commitment and faster action to heal the continent’s degraded lands.
At #AFWC, H.E. Mohammed B. S. Jallow highlighted the progress made as forest degradation slows, reforestation rises, and community forestry strengthens nationwide.
Climate change, biodiversity loss, wildfires and land degradation are impacting Africa's economies, agrifood systems and livelihoods. The urgency of our shared responsibility has never been clearer.
