Exciting news! 🥳😍
Now that surrogacy is legal in #Rwanda, we need more discussions and a better understanding of its guideline.
Why is surrogacy limited to married couples and not available to everyone, including those who aren’t married?
There’s a need to clarify several issues: Who will cover the maternity costs for the surrogate mother?
What happens if she refuses to give up the child? What if the couple separates during the process—what laws are in place to protect the surrogate mother and the baby?
@RwandaHealth , @RwandaLawReform & @HDIRwanda, can we host a Twitter Space on this topic and invite those interviewed in this article?
I’m happy to host it.

Envy is loud. Results are louder , our grade doesn’t seal our fate mn🤷🏽♀️

Naomie has been bullied since she got the Miss Rwanda crown 👑 ,damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t!
Nevertheless she hasn’t stopped & that shows her strength and determination.

As we approach Women's Day, here are a few things you should NOT do
1. Stop posting that image of a woman with multiple arms trying to do everything.
#IWD is not about romanticizing women’s labor&pain, especially the kind that comes from oppression&systemic injustices
so excited about this!

Sam did a great job visiting the country starting from where his parents were killed to upcountry
And then proceeded by going abroad to visit museums to get to the roots of the colonial roots of the Genocide in Rwanda
Wow! Very educative

What an honour to meet and hear from the formidable Scholastique @Mukasonga today. Her family was among the Tutsi removed from their homes in the 60s and dumped in the desolate region of Bugesera to suffer and die. Most perished in 1992 and 1994.
She was surprised at the success of her first book “Inyenzi”: “We had been so abandoned I had no idea that our story would interest anyone.”
On telling her stories as a way to deal with grief, alone in France after her family was exterminated in 1994: “the pen that asked no questions was my only confidant. The blank page allowed me to release the poison that flowed in me.”
