Over 1,000 applications came through our careers page at @launchverse_.
One pattern stood out immediately: only a small fraction took the time to use the platform, interact with it, and understand how our engineering systems work before applying.
Technical hiring isn't just about submitting an application, it's about demonstrating curiosity, initiative, and genuine interest in the product you're applying to build.
We've shortlisted fewer than 100 candidates for the next stage. The remaining applicants will receive a notification that we're unable to move forward with their application.
Before applying, use the product. Explore it. Understand the engineering behind it. It makes a bigger difference than most people realize.

Hello everyone. @Charmingdc01 and I built @myhappr
Myhappr is a creator tipping platform built specifically to support local banking rails and payment methods across Africa. It allows creators, open-source maintainers, and streamers in supported regions to receive financial support directly into their local bank accounts or mobile money wallets.
Here is how it works: Currently, creators in Nigeria and Ghana can sign up and connect their local bank accounts (for Nigeria) or mobile money wallets (for Ghana) to receive payouts.
Supporters from across Africa can tip in their preferred local currency (including NGN, GHS, and KES). We handle the real-time currency conversion and process the payment, ensuring the creator receives the funds settled directly in their local currency (Naira or Cedis).
For example, a supporter in Kenya can pay in Kenyan shillings (KES) using M-Pesa, or a supporter in Nigeria can pay in naira (NGN) using OPay, a card, or any other supported payment method. A creator in Ghana will receive the settlement directly in Ghanaian cedis (GHS).
Creator registration and payouts for Kenya are temporarily disabled, but tipping from supporters in Kenya is fully active. We are also running experimental beta support for international tipping in USD, GBP, and EUR for diaspora audiences.

Seeing a startup almost about to hit ₦ 1 million on Bachs in less than 2 weeks since they integrated. It’s possible guys, people can actually pay for your product, please shipppp, shipppppp!!
Dropped this small but highly requested feature on @Cportalng this week, and we're already using it.
Some schools print documents in-house, while others outsource the printing. Either way, this feature makes the process much easier.
When I build features, I keep them simple. Most of the time, I've done the job manually myself, so I understand the pain of repetitive tasks. Technology shouldn't add more steps, it should remove them and make the work seamless.
We also have something to say about startups but our feedback get scattered on the timeline.
Not anymore, now you can comment on startups on @afro_launch and the founder gets notified directly. Whole discussion in one place. Try it and let me know what you think.
