Friday motivation: Your ancestors did not help build the Achaemenid Empire, connect continents through the Royal Road and leave a legacy that lasted millennia so that you'd give up on yourself after one setback.
📍Naqsh-e Rostam, Pars Province, Iran

@AlFuraI_ "The Al-Abbas Shrine in Karbala, Iraq, was not designed by a single architect. Its design evolved over centuries, with the majority of its modern architecture conceptualized and created by classical Persian and Central Asian architects."
Zoroastrianism, traditionally founded by the Persian prophet Zoroaster, is one of the world’s oldest monotheistic religions.
Its ideas shaped later Abrahamic religions: concepts like a cosmic struggle between good and evil, angels and demons, final judgment and heaven and hell.

Persian culture is Cyrus the Great, Nowruz, Hafez, Ferdowsi, Rumi, art, poetry, music, science, architecture and thousands of years of history.
It is gardens in the desert, verses recited by heart, tables set for guests, songs passed through generations and a civilization that has inspired the world for over thousands of years.
Persia is a legacy.
📍 Tangeh-ye Vashi, Tehran Province, Iran
A stunning gorge and mountain pass located in the Alborz mountain range. Famous for its cool climate and adventurous river-trekking, it is a highly popular day trip and summer getaway for locals escaping the heat of the city.
@Mountain_Fo That’s exactly the challenge with Ferdowsi. He can’t really be compressed into a single sentence without losing what makes him significant. Even describing him as a poet feels too small once you realize the scale of what he did!
Ferdowsi was one of the greatest poets in human history. He devoted over 30 years of his life to writing the 'Shahnameh', an epic of verses that preserved Persian history, mythology and language for future generations.
More than a poet, he was a guardian of cultural memory.
