Day 35 of #JusticeForOchanya 💔

This is day 35 of our fight for justice.
Ochanya Ogbanje was a 13-year-old girl from Benue State. She died in October 2018 from a very painful sickness called vesicovaginal fistula. It was caused by repeated rape by her uncle Andrew Ogbuja (a lecturer) and his son Victor. The abuse started when she was only 8 years old. She was sent to live with them so she could go to school.
In 2022, a court in Benue State freed Andrew Ogbuja. His wife was found guilty only of failing to protect the child. Victor ran away and is still hiding. The police have not worked hard enough to catch him.
We cannot stay quiet. Nigerian girls keep suffering because of cases like this.
@BenuePoliceNG, @benuestategovt and @PoliceNG, please arrest Victor Ogbuja now. Re-open the case and give Ochanya real justice.

This 13-year-old girl from Benue State was sent to live with “family” for schooling and safety. Instead, from the age of 8, she was repeatedly raped by her uncle Andrew Ogbuja and his son Victor Ogbuja.

The years of abuse left her with vesicovaginal fistula (VVF). She suffered in silence, smiled through the pain, and eventually died in October 2018.

Andrew was acquitted by the court in 2022.
Victor remains a fugitive walking free, no sustained manhunt, no fresh wanted notice, no real pressure from the authorities even years later.

My chest isn’t just tight today… it’s shattering into a million pieces.

Ochanya was only 13. She left her mother’s arms full of dreams, just wanting to go to school. Instead, the people she trusted turned her tiny body into years of torture.

Her uncle walked free in 2022. But her cousin, Victor Ogbuja, the one who helped destroy her has been a ghost for over seven years.

No honest word from the people sworn to protect us. Just… nothing.

And now, the pain multiplies. In Ijebu Ode, a 7-year-old baby girl was brutally raped. Her innocence ripped away in the most evil way. But instead of justice rushing in, the rapist’s family is threatening her mother, bullying her into silence, terrorizing her for daring to speak up.
