How do we do public history?
Second-years @beccakaliff, @agallagherhist, @LexiZilen and Kate Calamito do public history by exhibiting their research with the @humanitiestruck.
Their work will also be exhibited at the upcoming @dchistcon in a poster session!
Catch the truck out today at the Rhode Island Avenue shopping center! The truck is exhibiting a practicum project created by students from @aupublichistory, titled What Lies Beneath.
Hey #twitterstorians and #publichistorians how do you advocate for our field? In what ways do you conduct outreach with local, state, and federal legislative offices? Is there a need in the field for better organized grassroots outreach campaigns?
Our first poster of the day is presented by Katlyn Calamito, @agallagherhist, @beccakaliff, and @LexiZilen!
The Columbian Harmony Cemetery was an African American burial ground founded in the early nineteenth century in Washington DC.
This past semester I have been working on a practicum project to memorialize and honor the Columbian Harmony Cemetery with @PrologueDC which was the first black burial ground in DC. Check out our work!

Thoughtful poster and essay from @agallagherhist exploring what various historians on Twitter get from communicating on Twitter
Howdy #twitterstorians check out my digital history project on Confederate Monuments! https://t.co/vdFXctC53e
I'd love any feedback y'all have. This has been a lot of fun to create and I feel like I am still only scratching the surface. Plus it was real cool to make a map😬
#twitterstorians do you include grad school projects on your resume? If so, how? We are debating this in one of my classes and would love some advice/feedback!
Almost finished with my first year of grad school. One standout theme of the year: historians love Twitter. Happy to be a part of #twitterstorian community
(1/5) Our practicum feature this week is @PrologueDC. Prologue DC is a team of Washington-based historians who believe understanding the past helps understand the unique culture of the present.
