This is a fun definitional trick the anti-gun lobby plays.

They've defined "school shooting" two separate ways:
1. Shootings that happen on school grounds when class is in session
2. Shootings that happen any time a firearm or bullet is close to a school.

The first definition is the one people think of when 'school shootings' are mentioned. They're far less common and a majority of them are White. There were 39 of these in 2023.

The second definition is the one they use to claim "school shootings are an epidemic" and these are FAR more common, disproportionately Black (gang violence in nearby neighborhoods), and are used to make the scary headlines like "school shootings happen every year." About 350 of these occurred in 2023.

So then the media cherry picks these two datapoints to claim school shootings are a "disproportionately white male phenomenon that occurs almost daily in America."

They have their cake and eat it too.

You never know your father. Your mother beats the shit out of you for doing normal child things. Your sister is the town bicycle. Your brother dies in a shooting, and all funds raised to support your family are blown on a gaudy funeral. You get molested by your auntie at 13 and are told it's a good thing. Your extended family gorges themselves into obesity and disease on EBT paid junk food. They make fun of you for trying in school, for speaking properly, for being tidy and well mannered. Your girlfriend breaks up with you because you don't have enough cash to pay for her lashes, wigs, and nights at the club twerking on other men. Your only shot at getting out of this hell is becoming a professional athlete, a successful rapper who inevitably dies a gruesome death, or getting a decent career with the rudimentary education you received while your peers came to school high and fought each other in the classrooms. If you manage to succeed, relatives you don't even know will be beating down your door to borrow money they will never pay back. And a lifetime of your family and community blaming it all on the White man, never an ounce of personal responsibility taken.

My father told me this once and I stated plainly that I would rather die penniless and alone in a gutter than live mired in lies. I told him that such habitual, cowardly lying rots the soul and has ruined the world.

This attitude extends to everything they see. Women, covid, politics, safety, crime, no thought for the future or the consequences of lies, only an ardent demand that we ignore those ruinous truths because doing so lets us pretend to be happy now. This “advice” will destroy you. Happiness is not found in telling lies, but by aligning yourself, your desires and your beliefs upon the axis of creation; those rules of nature under which we must all live.
