After the problem has already been solved.

That is when you stop following slogans.
And start following the timeline.

Before you decide who the villain is...
Read the timeline.

Because dates don't shout.
They don't trend.
They don't protest.

They simply expose the truth.

May 3.
NEET examination.
Within four days, the NTA detected fraud.

The very next day, it informed the police.
The investigation began.

The Government cancelled the May 3 examination.

May 12.
The Ministry of Education filed a written complaint.
The CBI registered the case.

Special investigation team (SIT) were formed immediately.

May 15.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan addressed the nation.

He apologised.
Accepted moral responsibility.

Announced the re-NEET schedule.

Then came the bigger announcement.

From next year,

Major national examinations would move towards
computer-based, multi-encrypted testing (CBT).

A permanent safeguard.
Not another temporary fix.

Meanwhile,
The CBI moved fast.

Arrests began.
The network expanded.

Soon, 13 accused were behind bars.

June 21.
Fresh NEET examination conducted successfully.

July 16.
Results declared.

Now students wait for counselling.

But this story is bigger than one examination.

Paper leaks are not new.

Every student preparing next year will carry the same anxiety.
I am with students.

Now comes the real question.

If the examination was cancelled...
The re-exam was conducted...
The results were declared...
The investigation was underway...
And structural reforms were already announced...

Then what exactly is the endgame of this protest?

If the demand is...
"Remove the Minister."

Then what?
What comes next?
What reform is on the table?
What solution replaces the one already announced?

These are fair questions.

Another one is equally important.

Who loses the most...
If encrypted, computer-based (CBT) examinations,
make organised paper leaks almost impossible?

Students?

Or those who profited from the old system?
Coaching Mafia?
Corrupted Academicians?
Tainted Beuraucrats?

Or those who is taking advantage of students emotions.

Aam Aadmi Party?

One fact cannot be ignored.

இந்தச் சட்டத்துல வெளிநாட்டு நிதி பெறும் அமைப்புகளுக்கு எதிராக கடுமையான நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்கப்படும்.

Over the past many years, I have taken a personal stand in support of the NEET examination, arguing that it brought uniformity in student selection across the country and gave students from underprivileged backgrounds a real shot at pursuing their dream of medical education. In the last 5 years, the NEET UG question paper has leaked thrice. Imagine the amount of pressure that it puts on students, who had to go through the examination process yet another time when the system that was supposed to bring in uniformity was failing. Yet there was no accountability, and I believe strongly that it was that moment that brought in a shift in the minds of the students to take to the streets to cry their hearts out.

Protest is a fundamental right in a Democracy. The pertinent question, however, is this: why did the BJP-led Central Government take so long to initiate a dialogue with the protestors? Why was meaningful engagement delayed until the protest had escalated to a flashpoint? What kept you waiting?

The students and the people who are leading them also have a responsibility here. It is natural that when a protest stays on for weeks, people with vested interests will take the stage to air views that are either completely irrelevant to the initial demands of the protests or would try to completely hijack it to serve their agenda. If you remain silent and let these people with vested interests further their agenda, then you are deviating from your core objectives. Please do not let it happen!

I urge the BJP-led Central Government to engage in meaningful dialogue, uphold transparency, and take swift, appropriate action to address the concerns at hand. The strength of any nation lies in the confidence its youth place in its institutions. If our students lose faith in the fairness and credibility of our education system, we are jeopardising the future of our nation.

Every year over 20 lakh students appear for one exam that decides whether they become a doctor in India. It is called NEET, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. The National Testing Agency, India's government body responsible for conducting national level entrance examinations, runs it.

This year the paper leaked.

May 3rd the exam was conducted. Within 4 days the National Testing Agency itself identified that fraud had taken place. They did not wait for someone to expose them. They found it, reported it to the police immediately and a criminal investigation was launched.

Within 10 days the government cancelled the entire exam.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan held a press conference on May 15th. He apologised publicly to every student who had appeared. He took full moral responsibility. And on the same day he announced the re-exam dates and a permanent solution. All future national examinations would shift to computer-based encrypted testing, making the kind of physical paper leak that happened on May 3rd structurally impossible going forward.

Re-exam was conducted on June 21st. Results were published on July 16th. CBI arrested 13 criminals directly involved in the leak.

44 days from fraud to fresh results. Systemic reform built in. Culprits in custody.

Now here is the question nobody covering the protest is asking directly.

After all of that, what exactly is the Cockroach movement demanding?

Not a better solution. Computer based testing was already announced. Not accountability. The minister accepted full public responsibility before any protest began. Not justice. 13 people are already arrested.

The only demand is that Dharmendra Pradhan must resign.

The minister who caught the fraud fastest, apologised first, delivered the re-exam, published results and introduced permanent reform must be removed for doing all of those things.

The students whose exam was leaked were sitting their re-examination while this protest was building momentum around their pain. A meme page needed relevance. NEET provided the entry point. When momentum faded Sonam Wangchuk became the new face. The argument did not get stronger. The platform got louder.

Paper leaks in India are a genuine and serious problem. They deserved a permanent solution.

They got one.

This protest is no longer about students.
