@marysallen He worded this awkwardly but I really don't think he meant to make any political statement. He just wanted to be nice/appreciative to the individual soldier in the audience.
@cowboylikeoli@Terrance_Quaker@albions1971 westerns are a wide genre, but the general association in pop culture remains what I described vs. what Brokeback Mountain is about.
@cowboylikeoli@Terrance_Quaker@albions1971 He did not actually say that though? The film is a romance drama, when before westerns were generally action dramas about justice, heros vs. villains, good vs. bad, etc. It's you assuming that he meant sth different.
@SoulSparks124@deancasdenver The question was actually about boots and he was talking about shipping boots (as you can hear). It was JP who joked about shipping Destiel (playing on the double meaning) and then said "ship whatever you like" and then Jensen came back to the original meaning of the word.
@Archemeus@_whatsinaname7 It was pitched by Kripke, here he explains how he pitched both Vought Rising and GenV to Amazon back in 2020, but they didn't pick up VR until 2024:
https://t.co/Qq0kD3BJqf
@VoughtCrave It wasn't a retcon but it's still not the best writing to make it his motivation in a pivotal moment, when it's sth that will only be explored in VR. Also - to me it makes VR a bit less interesting, when I already know that she was manipulating him and he was so much in love.
@travjenjunkie The problem is that he spoke once about his boundaries with regard to a specific scene and now this is the only lense these people regard his scenes with. It's like he explained at JIB: he is not the only creator involved, the goal is to tell a story not to prove his sex skills.
@Jeanz0_0 How is it "replaced" by it? Vought Rising Season 1 was announced in 2024, it is already filmed and it will be released in 2027. Gen V Season 2 aired in 2025 and the series was cancelled now. The only thing that connects them is the same IP.
Or maybe it just shows that the fans of a tv show being insufferable and attacking other shows /actors /characters does not in fact help in attracting viewership to this tv show? Just a thought.
@emlunii it seems this account likes to use Jensen to get engagement, they did the same thing a couple of days ago antagonising the heated rivalry fandom. SPN fandom is full of trolls and angry, sad people, unfortunately...
@HanmeiCui@JAcklesSldrBoy@Jacklesthings I don't think it's about fans that were there but about the general attitute of J2 fans towards Jensen. The point is you are mostly JP fans who enjoy his friendship with JA, there's nothing wrong with admitting that instead of reducing Jensen to JP's support. He is a real person.
@LizDean67 I think Jensen appreciates the cons and the fandom there but he does not treat them that seriously. He is generous and polite because this is who he is. He knows that some fans are parasocial about those relationships but he can't do anything about it, so he focuses on positivity
@Jacklesthings As a Jensen fan, after observing the fandom for a while, I muted most of J2 fans. I think they care more about their vision of J2 friendship than about Jensen. They view J2 as real life Sam&Dean (their vision of S&D) where JA's only role is being JP's supporter and protector.
@NataRomanovaBW@catsarefun58595 Maybe they like Gen V but they like trolling more :) Besides, I don't think there's any competition between Gen V and Vought Rising, especially since VR S1 is now in production, and decision on Gen V S3 will be made before it airs...
@SPN4win In the Deadline article it's stated that the decision was made under Vernon Sanders but finalized after Peter Friedlander had been announced as his successor. Still, it might just mean that these are tumoultous times at Amazon...
@SueLadigo@angel2526628019 The people who are entilted are J2 shippers and people addicted to exaggerating everything about their friendship. JP's comment is nice but calling it 'unwavering support' when he never hyped up JA's projects before on SM or at the cons is grossly hyperbolic.
@vjpers@DEADLINE Can this fandom not make this about Jensen? The people who are complaining certainly don't care about his opinions about MP's acting but will be quick to make it something to hate JA for. If they voice their concerns, at least Amazon/Kripke can make an informed decision on this.
@CarrieG42869356@babygirlsism@zombiejude Did you watch the video? He actually said that it's a fair concern and that she doesn't have to get pregnant and that how to prevent getting pregnant is a conversation for another day - his daughter is 8 (almost 9) years old now.
