How Foreign Religions Maintain Africa's Colonial Status Quo

The Africa of today is very different from the Africa of 3,000 years ago. It is an Africa fragmented by alien belief systems which have displaced or corrupted its own indigenous truths. The societies that brought these alien belief systems to Africa were not interested in altruism, but in expansion.

They did not wish to “civilize” Africa, but to plunder the wealth of its already existing civilizations, and the institutions they left behind continue to keep Africans subservient to this day. Conditioned from birth to view other people’s ancestors as inherently superior to their own, Africans are constantly looking outside of themselves for hope and validation. This deep-seated self-hatred affects every aspect of their lives… including what they demand of their own leaders.

But it is neither in Arabia nor in Europe where the Great Pyramid of Giza stands. Ditto the first iron smelting furnaces, or the world’s oldest known astronomical calendar.

These are all in Africa.

And maybe the reason why some African leaders refuse to awaken their people to this truth and use the boundless wealth of their continent to uplift it… is because their loyalties lie elsewhere.

The Taíno and Arawak peoples of Haiti, once thriving communities with deep spiritual and agricultural systems, were nearly wiped out within decades of Columbus’s arrival. They were enslaved, mutilated, and hunted like animals all in the name of gold and empire.

In Australia, British colonisers declared the land ‘Terra Nullius’ - or nobody’s land - while thousands of Aboriginal people were massacred in cold blood. In Queensland, it’s thought over 24,000 Indigenous lives were taken by government-sanctioned forces. This was not law and order. This was ethnic cleansing, dressed in European uniforms.

Across the Pacific, the lie of civilisation took the form of ‘Blackbirding’ - kidnapping tens of thousands from Melanesia and forcing them into backbreaking labour on plantations. Meanwhile, imported diseases erased entire communities.

This is not ancient history. The scars are still fresh. The descendants of these communities are still here, still fighting, still remembering. Because colonisation was never about civilisation, it was about extraction, domination and the silencing of Indigenous voices.
